A visit from Grandma and Grandpa Green

My parents came down for a visit today. My mom has been such a great help to me! She was here from Wednesday to Sunday last week and then came back Tuesday and today. I don't know what I would have done without her! My kids just adore them. We took them to the park for a while. My dad pitched some balls to Nicolas and he was hitting like a champ! He just kept saying how much he loves baseball. Here are some pictures from today......

More of our little Davey!

Here are a few more shots of our little guy. He is the sweetest thing and we can't get enough of him!

Nicolas just adores him!

Ellie loves to hold him and is my "right hand man"

Grandma Staffieri came for a visit

Sometimes I think I am looking at Nicolas as a baby! They look so much alike.

Lucky for me I had signed the kids up for a summer camp this week not knowing if I would have had the baby or not. They had "Pirate Day" today and got to go on a treasure hunt. They had a blast!

He's Here!!

David Matthew Staffieri was born Thursday June 19, 2008 at 4:40am. He was 11 days early, so he came as quite a surprise! I went to the hospital at 3:45pm on Wednesday and was told to walk the halls for a while. I didn't progress enough so they sent me home at 9:00pm saying that I was just in "early labor" and it could be anywhere from 24-48 hours at least until I had the baby. We get home at 9:30 and had some dinner and got into bed at 10:30. My contractions were every 3 minutes and really painful so I knew I wasn't going to sleep much. At 10:45pm I had a really strong contraction and all of a sudden I feel a gush of warm water! Anyways, to spare the details, I woke Matt up (who had already fallen asleep!) and told him we needed to get back to the hospital fast. It is about 25 minutes away and probably the longest drive I have ever had to endure! We got there and luckily for me the anesthesiologist was available right away. So I was able to get my epidural by midnight and had him a few hours later. Everything went well and we are back home already! My mom came down and was with Ellie and Nicolas while we were at the hospital. Ellie and Nicolas are really loving their new little brother. Nicolas can't get enough of him and just loves to kiss him! Here are a few pictures from the last couple of days. Hopefully I can get a few more up tomorrow. I realized that Matt and I are not in any of the pictures and we never got a family shot.
